Our on-site Rehab, Dietary, Social Work, and Activities departments provide personalized and compassionate care to each guest. Tyler began his career with Laurel Health Care Company in 2007 as a Physical Therapist Assistant on staff at The Laurels of Charlottesville. He also served as the Rehabilitation Services Director at The Laurels of Bon Air for five years prior to returning to The Laurels of Charlottesville as the Administrator. He attained his Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Kent State University, and completed his Bachelor's degree through Northeastern University. He enjoys spending time with his family and tackling home renovation projects.
Rehabilitation Services Director
Mariah Farmer graduated from the Medical College of Virginia's occupational therapy program in 1999. She began her occupational therapy career in a brain injury group home/outpatient clinic and in the home health setting. Mariah started working with the geriatric population at a skilled nursing facility in 2000 and began to focus on Rehabilitation Management in 2001. Soon thereafter, she was promoted to Regional Rehabilitation Manager, where she led up to nine rehabilitation departments for three years. Since becoming the Rehabilitation Services Director at The Laurels of Willow Creek in 2006, she has enjoyed leading a successful rehabilitation program where guests are able to regain their independence and return home.
Director of Nursing
Abbey grew up in Virginia Beach, VA She graduated from VCU in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Prior to starting her career in long-term care, she spent several years caring for exotic animals as a zoo keeper. She decided to change career paths and obtained a associates degree as a registered nurse. In 2012, she started as a floor nurse and worked her way to become the Director of Nursing at The Laurels of Willow Creek in 2017. In her free time, she enjoys, playing soccer, field hockey and spending time with her husband, 2 kids, and her dogs.
Director of Marketing
Pamela started as the Director of Marketing for The Laurels of Willow Creek in 2008. Prior to this, she worked in the skilled nursing setting for three years assisting in the Rehabilitation Department. In 2004, she was promoted to Admissions Coordinator at The Laurels of Willow Creek. She has a wide variety of experience in health care, including nine years of retail pharmacy experience and three years of long-term care pharmacy experience. Pamela enjoys her job and is known in the facility and community for her care, compassion, and outstanding customer service.
